I made this with cardboard and paper mache .I painted it with acrylics , silver enamel , glitter paint , and loose glitter .

Im working on this right now . I need to break away from my other two , very time consuming works due to the stress on my crippled shoulders . I consider this a quick break away piece , until my shoulders feel better . Im also making a shelf made from nasty old cigarette boxes and paper mache .

Ive decided to keep some spaces " open " , and added some gold enamel paint . Now I can concentrate on the beading .

Did I tell you ?

Ive always worked " assembly line style ". Most of the time , I am working two or more pieces at once , just switching back and forth . It takes a certain amount of discipline for me to work on and complete something without switching !  I have proved to myself , that I can do it , once in a while . Sometimes there will be a couple of months or even years before something is truly finished .          Ive added some gold metallic paint to this one , and I will be adding beads , of course .

This is around 24 inches across . Trimmed with sead beads .

I plan on really loading up on the beads . This is hard to see right now in a photo . It is an experiment in color , and texture . This piece begs you to touch it and run your fingers across . Very tactile !

..... put my needle down for a while . I'm just having fun with my camera . Of course , in the back of my brain , I'm thinking , I wish I had the energy to make them into photos with stitching on top . I think it can be printed on fabric . Ill have to do some research on that .

 I'm taking a break from butterfly for now and I'm  playing with scrap leather and beads .

Adding the beads now

In order to make the cutting easier , I used some red paint around the edges . I also did the same thing on the backside . I will be cutting this out and attach it to either a canvas , or a bigger hoop and will continue working on the design .
