Seascaping , one stitch and one bead at a time

I plan on using many , many beads and stuff . I started this one around two or three years ago . I think its time to finish up .

I recently got some new metallic and neon threads and just had to try them out . The flower  wreath is 8 inches across and will probably end up as another center piece , somewhere down the road .

Back to this one

Ive been working on and off on this one for the past few years . Ive decided to finish it up and will most likely use it as a centerpiece in a larger work .

Wow , this is quite the project ! Im almost done with " Fire and Ice " , maybe in a few more weeks , it will be completed . Or maybe just a few more days..... We shall see . It will be worth the blood ,sweat ,and tears !

Blood , sweat , and tears

Wow... This one is painful! I am needing to take many breaks in the creation of this . Its mainly because of the stitching involved . It is solid stitching without paint , which is very time consuming , and Im a hurting unit ! My fingers and shoulders ....ow. But.... Im very determined , and I will complete this work , no matter what !

I did this in 1995

This was painted during a dark period of my life. I normally create and paint about the beauty and wonders of life ! My face is an actual casting of my face and painted gold . I added some more dimension with painted clay blood drops. There are some feathers around the sunglasses . I wish the flash from my camera didnt ruin the mood , and I no longer own the painting . The handle of the sword is slightly stuffed with cotton with some jewels attached .

Yippee ! Ive come full circle with the fire . I have used neon colored threads so it really jumps out at you . Next , I will begin filling up the remaining space with ice . I will be using allot of metallic hologram threads , mixed in with regular threads for the ice . I think different shades of blue and maybe a little blue green will look nice . But , first , its time to take a break from stitching . Im a sore little lady .! I have been spending 12 to 15 hours a day for the past week on this . so far .

My current project

This is quite large , 24 inches across , and done on a piece of old bedsheet. I drew the design with perm marker and I am using my basic chainstitch . I am using 3-ply sewing thread . My vision is that of fire , and ice . I will be using tons of hologram threads , and possibly , some beads later . We shall see what this develops into .

Ive added some shades of orange and pink , along with 6 silver lined seed beads in the center of each sequin. It is difficult to photograph! I think I need a new camera , anyway.

Ive finished attaching the sequins now. I sure could use a pair of sunglasses while Im stitching! Ive started to highlight with white thread, single ply.

Working on this now

First, I painted the material with acrylics, and I am now doing the embroidery and adding sequins.

I also outlined the mirror pieces with gold.This was done by dripping the paint from different angles off the edges, I had fun with this one.

Ive taken old cds and cut them up into pieces which were stitched down with sewing thread.I painted the surrounding fabric with black acrylic paint. This will eventually be used to create a larger design.

A note from me

I'm in a marker mode right now . I almost feel like I need to change the title of my blog again , but I will resist the temptation for now . Once ive had my fill of this stage ( period  ) I will leap quite intensely into the thread , paint , and beads! I think I am coming up with some decent designs just aching to be stitched at this point . Anyone care to give me some input on the subject ?

Im just taking a little break from stitch and paint. Im playing with markers now. My mom keeps busy with her hobby of coloring....and I have been her source of coloring pages for at least a year now. Ive become like a machine on an assembly line , thinking up one design after another. I must always have a new page ready by the time she finishes with her colors. I think she's great with colors! She loves to use the gel pens with metallics and glitter.
